Harraseeket Inn's Afternoon Tea

Harraseeket Inn's Afternoon Tea

Chasing the changing leaves from Montreal to Maine and then Boston, I discovered afternoon tea at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport, ME.  The original inn was built in a historic building dating from the 1700s and over the years has expanded to include a charming 19th century Greek Revival known as the Sullivan House and an addition built in 1997.  The Inn serves a buffet style afternoon tea in their drawing room.  Sitting at a fireside table, I enjoyed ham salad sandwiches, fruit, a variety of cheeses, and delicious chocolate sweets.  My favorite of the day was their homemade Hot Mulled Cider...which when you reach the bottom of the serving bowl contains cinnamon stick and orange slices.  Divine!
